I've been primary caregiver to both parents, starting with my mom (autoimmune diseases) in 2018 and then dad (cancer) in 2020. A background in healthcare was helpful as caregiver and advocate, and once in those "caring" roles I learned SO much more. I have vast experience from many angles of the caregiving/advocate equation and am happy to share insight with others.

Caregiving is incredibly honorable and selfless. Many caregivers are also working full-time jobs and juggling other responsibilities. The needs of a caregiver can be a lot for one to manage which brings stress, exhaustion, and worry ultimately affecting their own physical and mental well-being. I stand in appreciation and support for caregivers and would like to help caregivers who need a listening ear or sounding board to improve their own well-being.

My entire career has been serving older adults in many areas. I am a licensed nursing home administrator and assisted living administrator and have managed both for-profit and non-profit communities across the country. Probably the way I might best contribute is to answer questions if anyone is searching for a nursing home, assisted living or other type of housing. I cannot imagine how difficult it must be to care for a loved one 24/7. God bless.
