What is Psoriatic Arthritis (PSA)?
Psoriatic arthritis is a medical condition where the affected person gets red spots and silvery scales on the skin. The condition can lead to inflammatory arthritis that affects body joints, such as fingers or toes. In some cases, psoriasis arthritis can happen before psoriasis symptoms emerge.
People living with psoriasis arthritis experience joint pain and stiffness, in addition to inflammation of the joints. The disease may affect any joint in the body, including finger and spine joints. Since there is no way to cure psoriasis, the person will need a caregiver for physical and emotional support. As a caregiver, you’ll have to accompany people with PSA during a physical examination and help them with their health care plan.
